How to Mix Prints Right

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Mixing prints doesn’t need to be left to celebrities. You can mix two, and only two patterns at once. any more and you’ll look like Anna Sui picked the craziest pieces in her collection and put them on you.  Try to choose prints with some of the same colors in them, and if you’re petite make sure the pieces are fitted. Wear anything big and loose and your shape will be swallowed up by all the craziness.

Crazy Cool Denim

Friday, July 27th, 2012

Okay, so I know I did a post on colored denim in the spring, but I just have to do it again. But now wild jeans are becoming more extreme. I just snagged a pair of originally$68.00 leopard print skinnies for 13.99 at Kohls. Jeans are 1.becoming more crazy and printed and 2. going on sale. But this is important. Make sure they are skinny or bootcut. Flare jeans will make you look like you just stepped off of the Paris runways-in a bad way. But if you go the bootcut route route, make sure you are at least 5’4. If you are really petite the print and shape will swallow you and your body up.

Kickin’ It

Casual wear is a really important part of summer. Make it flirty with a floral print top with a handkerchief hem and a dark-rinse denim skirt. You can also go boho with it with a tie-dye maxi dress. (Get it at a hippie shop, like Sunshine Daydream, which is near Pizza Hut and Walmart in that plaza.) Also, you can go bright and indie by bright, plaid, madras shorts. Pair is with a solid colored tee or tank to tame the wild look.

Be Edgy in the Summer

Wednesday, July 4th, 2012

Sometimes in the summer, it can be hard to keep your punk-rock style because wearing all black can be impractical in the summer. I love abstract animal print maxi dresses. I also love neon or brightly colored tops with handkerchief hems. They look funky without being super goth. Also. a neon studded belt will give even the girliest of outfits a punk twist.

Spice Up Your Summer Uniform

Sunday, June 10th, 2012

Your summer uniform is something you wear a lot, like a tank and cutoffs. You can make this more fashionable by subbing the plain jean cutoffs for cutoffs of colored denim or even printed jeans. Add a tank or tee in a bright color, or if the print is really wild, plain black one works too. Add fierce sunglasses and lip gloss and go!

Hello Summer!

Friday, May 18th, 2012

Swimsuits, tanks, and little short shorts. Summer’s coming, fashionistas, and you should think about stocking up for the sunny times ahead. I like Victoria’s Secret for cute little shorts and tanks. Target is cool for sandals, swimsuits and tees. Some of their girl’s suits come with SPF, which is a fringe benefit of their cute swim collection. I also love Lands End for swim because any girl can find a flattering suit for a good price. These are some summer style recommendations, but if you find any other fab places to shop, tell me!

Style confidence

Saturday, March 10th, 2012

Never, ever,be scared to stand out. It always pays off. And if you epic fail, you’ll know not to do that next time. Take a risk with a color you don’t always wear,or an extreme print. Lop off your hair or grow it out. But remember not to go overboard. Rock the huge hair, the sparkly dress, or the blingy necklace.

Find your style!

Sunday, February 12th, 2012

Your accessories are the key to finding out what your style is. Have a silver studded leather cuff or belt? You are a punk rock rebel. Own a slap watch or many Converse All Stars? You are sporty chic. Glitter galore? You’re a glam diva. Girly girls tend to have floral things and gold and silver chains. Have a little bit of everything? You are a true original.

Major Spring Trend!

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

I love a little black dress, but I think it’s been upstaged by brights and jewel tones. Color is so in now. Wear colorful accessories with black and neutral clothing. Try to balance out all the colors with black, brown,or tan.

Uneven Surface

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

I love Hi-Low tops. They are crop-tops in the front and maxi dresses in the back. So 70’s! Get it in a vintage floral print to enhance the top’s retro feel. My favorite is from Forever 21. A little bit of a splurge at $3o.00, but it’s worth it. Long n’ lean frames are best for this look, but petites can do less extreme versions.
