Rework It!

Thursday, August 30th, 2012
  1. A dated neutral plaid dress with cap sleeves that you bought when you were younger: As long as it is fitted and knee-length, pair it with a studded bracelet and combat boots for a funky look.
  2. A Bordeaux lip gloss in the summer or spring: Put a pastel pink lip gloss under it for a beautiful rose color that looks great year round.
  3. A blush that you either broke or is too bright for your skin tone: Mix it with Vaseline to make a sheer lip gloss.
  4. A matte lip stain that you don’t use anymore because it dries out your lips: Add a tinted lip balm to moisten your lips and create a custom shade.

Black is the New Black

Brian Atwood

Just last season, designers were raving about color and wild prints. Now, they are embracing the old standby: black. The color appeared everywhere this season. They made the dark shade in leather and lace, proving that edgy flair comes in many materials. Brian Atwood went punk with over-the-knee stiletto boots (see  above right), and, Emilo Pucci made a somewhat girlier lace top.(above left).

Skinny Jeans: Why They Work for You

Saturday, August 18th, 2012

Sometimes skinny jeans look impossible to wear if you’re not a supermodel. But they look good on more shapes than you would think. They highlight the length of tall girls legs and lengthen petite girls legs. They accentuate and also create curves. The only shape I would not recommend the curve hugging jeans to are girls with bigger thighs, because they cling to the legs so tightly.

Dreamworks

Fairies, ponies, and rainbows, were what you wore on sweatshirts when you were little. But, you can modernize it by pairing a little girls tee with My Little Pony, rainbows, or anything else little kiddie with combat boots and adding a studded belt. Mess up your hair with some gel and a flat iron. Put on a dark vampy lip stain and wear a destroyed denim skirt, micro miniskirt (with tights) or distressed skinny jeans. If the neck is too high for you, hold your top where you want the neckline to be, and put a pin or brooch to make the top less frumpy. FYI, if nothing from the girls section fits you, go to Walmart and grab and adult pajama tee.

How to Mix Prints Right

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Mixing prints doesn’t need to be left to celebrities. You can mix two, and only two patterns at once. any more and you’ll look like Anna Sui picked the craziest pieces in her collection and put them on you.  Try to choose prints with some of the same colors in them, and if you’re petite make sure the pieces are fitted. Wear anything big and loose and your shape will be swallowed up by all the craziness.

A locker should do more than hold your books and coat. It should be stylish and ORGANIZED!!! Get a locker shelf to hold your books and a little basket to put a hairbrush, lip gloss, pencils, pens and anything else you might need. You can even buy LockerLookz wallpaper to make it super chic. You can get cute little magnets, air fresheners, and even chandeliers to totally trick out your locker.
